July

July is a quiet month in the garden but there are still a few jobs to do that your garden will benefit from.

Hungry Slugs & Snails
Keep sprinkling snail bait around any winter flower and vegetable seedlings. Our snail bait pellets are compressed and waxy so they keep working longer in wet winter conditions.

Fungal & Bacterial Diseases in Vegetables
Regular copper sprays will help protect your winter vegetable garden from fungal and bacterial diseases. While copper is very effective against these diseases it has a nil withholding period on food crops.

Dead Branches
Have you ever noticed how many dead branches old deciduous trees covered in lichen have? This is because although lichen can have a certain rustic appeal on trees it can kill the bark if it is not controlled effectively ring barking them so spray now with McGregor’s Lichen Spray to keep your deciduous trees and roses healthy.
