Planting Instruction

How to Sow: Choose a sheltered, well drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds directly in a well prepared seedbed or container. Sow seeds 5 cm apart, in rows 40 cm apart to a depth of 5 mm. Later, plants may be thinned or transplanted to final spacing. Seedling Care: Keep seedbed evenly moist during the germination period of 7-21 days. Apply fruit fertiliser two weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum blooms. Protect your seedlings from slugs, snails and insect pests; go to mcgregors.co.nz for appropriate plant health and pest control products. Hints and Tips: For easier weed control sow in rows 40 cm apart. It is then easy to regularly push hoe between the rows. This allows an almost weed free environment while the plants establish. Bees prefer sheltered, warm sunny areas. Our seeds are not treated with Neonicotinoids.
