Planting Instruction
  • How To Sow: Choose a sheltered, well-drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow directly in well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 15 cm apart, in rows 75 cm apart and to a depth of 3 cm. When seedlings are 5-10 cm high, thin them to 30 cm apart.
  • Seedling Care: Keep the seedbed or trays evenly moist during the germination period (7-14 days). Apply fruit fertiliser two weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum crop. Protect your seedlings from slugs, snails and insect pests; go to mcgregors.co.nz for appropriate plant health and pest control products.
  • Hints & Tips: Squeeze kernels, if the juice is milky, cobs are ready to pick. To harvest, simply twist the cobs away from the plant.
  • CAUTION: Seed is fungicide treated to minimise fungal attack during seed germination as a regulatory requirement. Do not eat seed or feed to animals.
  • Our seeds are not treated with Neonicotinoids.
  • These seeds are not pasteurized.
