Broccoflower Seed Romanesco

Code: MS3140

Gorgeous green pyramids. An interesting cross between Cauliflower and Broccoli. Tasty Romanesco turns a vibrant green when blanched. An interesting 'conversation starter' at your dinner party and with its novel extraterrestrial appearance could be useful to encourage children to eat their greens.

Planting Instruction
  • How To Sow: Choose a well drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow direct where to grow in a well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 3cm apart and cover to a depth of 5mm. Later, thin or transplant to 40cm apart
  • Seedling Care: Keep seedbed or trays evenly moist during the germination period of 7-14 days. Apply McGregor's VegeMax 2 weeks after germination for healthier plans and a maximum crop. Protect your vege garden from snails and slugs with McGregor's Snail and Slug bait and from White Butterfly with McGregor's Derris Dust.
  • Hints and Tips: Small heads can be harvested or harvest larger heads later when the heads are full, but before the sections begin to loosen.
