Planting Instruction
  • How To Sow: Choose a well drained site in full sun/part shade. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow directly in a well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 1 cm apart and cover to a depth of 5 mm. Later, thin or transplant to 40 cm apart. Seedling Care: Keep seedbed or trays evenly moist during the germination period of 12-16 days. Apply vegetable fertiliser two weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum crop. Protect your seedlings from slugs, snails and insect pests; go to mcgregors.co.nz for appropriate plant health and pest control products. Hints and Tips: When large enough, thin to 15 cm apart. Snip leaves for flavouring at any time. Our seeds are not treated with Neonicotinoids.
