Planting Instruction
  • How To Sow: Choose a well drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow directly in a well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 3 cm apart, in rows 10-15 cm apart and to a depth of 5 mm. Later, transplant or thin to 40 cm apart.
  • Seedling Care: Keep seedbed or trays evenly moist during the germination period of 7-14 days. Apply fertiliser two weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum crop. Protect your seedlings from slugs, snails and insect pests; go to mcgregors.co.nz for appropriate plant health and pest control products.
  • Hints & Tips: About 5% of fruits may be hot. Best enjoyed blistered in a pan with olive oil and salt. Pick fruits regularly while green for mild flavour. The seed contained in this packet is packed in dry air and sealed in foil to protect it from moisture and sunlight (heat). If you need to store seed do so in a cool, dark location.
  • These seeds are not pasteurised.
