Planting Instruction
  • How To Sow: Choose a sheltered, warm, well drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or after frosts, sow direct where to grow in a well prepared seedbed or container. Sow seeds 5cm apart and to a depth of 5mm. Use 1 plant in a 40cm tub or, if planing our in a garden allow 50cm between plants.
  • Seedling Care: Keep seedbed or trays evenly moist during the germination period of 14-21 days. Apply McGregor's FruitMax 2 weeks after germination for healthier plans and a maximum crop. Protect your vege garden from snails and slugs with McGregor's Snail and Slug bait and from White Butterfly with McGregor's Derris Dust.
  • Hints and Tips: Tomatoes prefer a warm climate, with ample spacing to encourage high yields. Watering the soil around the plants, not on the leaves helps minimise fungal problems such as blight. Staking support is beneficial to help hold heavy tomato crops.
