Chives are a wonderfully easy herb to grow in the garden. They have a light onion/garlic taste that is fantastic for all your light summer salads.

Planting Instruction

How to sow: Choose a well drained site in full sun - part shade. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow direct where to grow in a well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 2cm apart and to a depth of 1cm.
Seedling Care: Keep seedbed or trays evenly moist during the germination period of 14-21 days. Apply McGregor's VegeMax 2 weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum crop. Protect your herb garden from snails and slugs with McGregor's Snail and Slug bait and from White Butterfly with McGregor's Derris Dust.
Hints and Tips: When large enough, thin to 15cm apart. Snip leaves for flavouring at anytime.
